Notes
John 10:10 AMPC
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
If it’s life, it’s God
If it’s stealing, killing, or destruction, it’s the thief
Our enemy is invisible.
Ephesians 6:12 NLT
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
We are fighting an invisible enemy
But we have an invisible army
2 Kings 6:8-17 NLT
When the king of Aram was at war with Israel, he would confer with his officers and say, “We will mobilize our forces at such and such a place.” 9 But immediately Elisha, the man of God, would warn the king of Israel, “Do not go near that place, for the Arameans are planning to mobilize their troops there.” 10 So the king of Israel would send word to the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he would be on the alert there. 11 The king of Aram became very upset over this. He called his officers together and demanded, “Which of you is the traitor? Who has been informing the king of Israel of my plans?” 12 “It’s not us, my lord the king,” one of the officers replied. “Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!” 13 “Go and find out where he is,” the king commanded, “so I can send troops to seize him.” And the report came back: “Elisha is at Dothan.” 14 So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city. 15 When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. 16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
There are more with us than against us.
The presence of angels brings security
Daniel 7:9-10 NLT
I watched as thrones were put in place and the Ancient One sat down to judge. His clothing was as white as snow, his hair like purest wool. He sat on a fiery throne with wheels of blazing fire, 10 and a river of fire was pouring out, flowing from his presence. Millions of angels ministered to him; many millions stood to attend him. Then the court began its session, and the books were opened.
There is no shortage of Angels
Matthew 26:53 NLT
Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?
Angels are mentioned around 200 times in Scripture
God created angels.
Angels existed before humanity.
Angels were created as God’s servants/messengers.
1/3 of angels, led by Lucifer, rebelled against God.
⅔ of Holy angels continue to serve God’s purposes.
Hebrews 1:14 NLT
Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.
God sends His angels to assist those who have received salvation.
Angels are sent to serve
Angels are sent by God, for God’s purposes, to serve the people God loves.
Psalms 91:10-11
No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
Charge over you - assigned to you; special orders to watch over and protect you.
Angels - Messengers, Ministering Spirits, Heavenly Assistants, Covenant Enforcers.
Covenant Enforcers
The covenant contains everything that pertains to life and life more abundantly.
Angels enforce the terms of God‘s covenant
Spiritual policemen are the role of Angels.
Policemen don’t make laws; they enforce them
Psalm 103:20-21
Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. 21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
Angels heed the voice of the word of God
Heed - listen for, pay close attention to, hear, and do
There is a mighty host of angels waiting to hear the word of God come out of your mouth
If God has assigned an invisible army to assist you, then you need to stop living like you’re alone.
How do you get angels to work on your behalf?
The word of God is the ignition switch that turns on angelic activity.
You don’t activate angels by trying to command angels. You activate angels as you walk in obedience to His Word.
3 things I want you to do:
Believe that God is working even when you can’t see it.
Speak God’s Word instead of speaking defeat.
Move — Take the step God has told you to take.
Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask you to dispatch the angels that have been sent to minister, assist, and protect those who are heirs of salvation. That’s us! We believe and declare that the angels are released now and sent forth to protect the lives of our family members. We thank you, and we receive their protection now, in Jesus' name! Amen
