Notes

Have you ever felt like you are being pulled in 10 different directions? Worn out...Running on empty...Depleted?

  • You wake up tired even after a full night's sleep.

  • You feel like you're giving your best everywhere, but still coming up short.

  • You feel like you have more responsibilities than energy.

  • You feel like you have more expectations than time.

  • You feel like you have more stress than peace.

  • More decisions than clarity.

  • More problems than answers.

  • More month than money.

  • More anxiety than rest.

  • Your kids need you. Your spouse needs you. Your boss needs you. Your friends need you. And by the end of the day, there's nothing left for you.

  • We call that "being stretched thin." The Bible has another word for it: lack.

  • If there’s one pressure almost everyone has felt, it’s the pressure of lack.

  • Have you ever been afraid there wouldn’t be enough?

  • Have you ever felt like you were going to run out of money?

  • If so, you’re not alone. The pressure of lack is one of Satan’s greatest weapons. But today, we’re going to discover that God’s Word has something to say about it.

Psalm 23:1 NIV

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

  • Shepherd - someone who leads, feeds, provides and protects

  • Lack - to be deficient; to be without; to come up short; to be in need.

  • Lack is the absence of something God intends for you to have in order to fulfill His purpose.

  • Lack nothing - You will never be without what your Shepherd knows you need.

  • What if a billionaire said I support you?

  • The opposite of lack isn’t abundance. The opposite of lack is trust.

Deuteronomy 2:7

For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.

  • Even during difficult seasons, the Lord is with you so you lack nothing.

  • Say this out loud, “I lack nothing”

Luke 22:35

And He said to them, “When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?” So they said, “Nothing.”

  • This is an illustration of obeying God. When you obey God, you will never run out.

  • Say this out loud, “I lack nothing”

Deuteronomy 8:7-9

For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; 8 a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; 9 a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.

  • God is still leading His people into places of increase, influence, opportunity, and provision.

  • God does not identify with scarcity, and neither should you.

  • Say this out loud, “I lack nothing”

Nehemiah 9:21 NLT

For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell!

  • Feet will not swell means God's miraculous protection, provision, and the stamina to endure life's hardships

  • God is against perpetual lack.

  • Say this out loud, “I lack nothing”

Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping himself around me like a shield, he is so generous with his gifts of grace and glory. Those who walk along his paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for he provides it all!

  • Say this out loud, “I lack nothing”

Psalms 34:9-10 NIV

Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

  • The Lord will always provide for your needs!

  • Say this out loud, “I lack nothing”

  • “Lack nothing” does not mean “do nothing.”

James‬ ‭1:5‬

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

  • Ask - to request, to place a demand upon

  • Say this out loud, “I lack nothing”

Philippians 4:19

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

  • His provision is always abundantly more than you can do in your own strength.

  • Say this out loud, “My God is the source of my supply”

  • Don't look to the government for your supply

  • Don't look to other people for your supply

  • Don't look to your job for your supply

  • Don't look to your spouse for your supply

  • As your pastor, I do not look to you for my supply

  • Say this out loud, “My God shall supply”

What “I shall not lack” means biblically

  • You will not come up short

  • You will not be abandoned

  • God will supply everything

God doesn’t promise you will never face a season of need, but He does promise you never have to live under the identity of lack.

3 things I want you to do:

  1. Stop letting lack become your identity.

  2. Replace fear with thanksgiving.

  3. Become a giver

Some of you walked in and tuned in carrying a heavy burden. Let’s release our faith together.

Stand and declare:

“The Lord is my Shepherd. He knows what I need. He is leading me. He is providing for me. I refuse to live in fear. I refuse to live like I’m forgotten. My God will supply all my need. I shall not lack.”
