The Fearless Life

In this message, Pastor DaVon shares how fear can keep you from enjoying the journey God has you on. To overcome fear, you must fully understand how deeply God loves you—not just how much you love Him. This message will transform the way you think about the love of God.

NOTES

Psalms 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

  • Fear, terror, and anxiety absolutely does not exist or is present inside of God’s unconditional love for me.

  • Fear cannot exist inside the realm of God’s love.

  • Fear has no rightful place where God’s love is fully realized.

  • Fear is removed by knowing how much God loves you.

  • Perfect - mature, brought to its intended end, fully developed, reaching its designed purpose

  • Mature, perfect, and fully developed love throws out, drives out, and forcefully expels fear

  • To throw out, like casting out an intruder.

  • Perfect love violently ejects fear.

  • Love acts like a spiritual eviction notice to fear.

  • Fear carries self-torment.

  • Torment is an inevitable result of allowing fear to dominate your thinking

  • Torment is mental harassment and ongoing distress.

  • Fear is torture

  • Love has not yet reached its full maturity or completion in that person.

  • The one living in fear has not matured in the area of the love of God.

  • When God’s love becomes fully developed in a believer, it forcefully expels fear because fear always carries the expectation of punishment.

  • When you understand God’s love toward you, fear loses its foundation.

  • Love dismantles the entire structure that fear stands on.

Fear says:

  • Something bad is coming

  • God may not come through

  • I might lose

Love says:

  • God is for me

  • God is working everything for my good

Say out loud:

Because I know God loves me, fear has no legal place in my life. Perfect love drives fear out of my mind, my future, and my life.

1 John 4:17

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

  • Love produces boldness

  • When God’s love is understood, it produces fearless confidence before God, not intimidation.

  • John gives the reason: “As He is, so are we in this world.”

  • This means believers share in Christ’s identity and rightstanding before God right now, not just in heaven.

1 John 4:19

We love him, because he first loved us.

  • Love becomes the motivation

  • God initiated love toward you before you did anything

  • God’s love is not a response to us, our love is a response to Him.

  • You receive love first, and then love flows out of you.

Spiritual equation:

God loved us first → We receive that love → Love matures → Fear is expelled → Boldness appears

The purpose of God’s love is to produce fearless confidence in His people.

Fear is a love revelation problem. The more you understand God's unconditional love and commitment to you, the more fearless you will become.

Ecc 5:18-20 MSG

After looking at the way things are on this earth, here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it. That’s the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. It’s useless to brood over how long we might live.
