How To Experience True Life
God isn’t against you having money; He’s against money having you. Money itself isn’t the issue. The problem comes when you put your trust in it, chase after it, and build your life around it. In this message, Pastor DaVon reveals how money can’t give you true life, but when you learn to release it, you open the door to experience true life.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 NLT
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.
How much money would it take for you to feel wealthy?
Paul told Timothy to “command those who are rich in this present age…” and before you check out and think, “That’s not me,”—if you’ve got a roof over your head, clean water, and a working phone, you’re already in the top percentage of wealth in the world.
God is the Source
Command the rich in this world to not be full of pride
You are not better than someone because you have money.
Enjoy but don’t idolize
Paul told Timothy to speak directly to those with material wealth—not to shame them, but to shift their mindset.
He reminds us that money is not the problem; trusting in money is.
We do NOT need to feel guilty for blessings, but we need to feel responsible with them.
Command the rich in this world to not be full of pride
You are not better than someone because you have money
You will not be happier because you have money
If I get more money, my life will improve. Would it?
Will you be satisfied internally? Or will you be greedy?
Have you ever talked to someone who has gotten more money?
Did their soul seem more at rest?
More money, more problems
How is your relationship with money?
Command the rich to think like this:
Use money to do good
Rich in good works – Planning and looking for ways to give
Ready to give – being prepared to give your money away
Willing to share – willing to divide and distribute
These 4 things will cause you to experience true life!
Instead of seeking status through wealth, Paul calls them to find true riches in generosity
Money alone can’t give you true life, but giving it away opens the door to it.
Living the lifestyle of a giver requires that you make the necessary lifestyle adjustments that will allow you to have something to give
The very act of giving money away does something within you. It destroys greed.
Ask yourself:
Am I trusting in wealth or God?
Am I rich in stuff or rich in good works?
Am I building for now or investing for forever?
Here’s the shift.
Don’t be rich in shoes, cars, or square footage
But be rich in good works, generosity, and impact.
When people talk about you, will they say:
“He had a lot of stuff” OR
“He was generous, kind, always ready to bless somebody else.”
